CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Allison Curtin scored 22 points as Illinois (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today; No. 23 AP) routed Minnesota 81-49 on Sunday. Tauja Catchings added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Illini (17-8, 7-4 Big Ten). Cassie VanderHeyden led the Golden Gophers (8-14, 1-10) with 16 points.
Illinois held Minnesota to 27 percent shooting in the first half on the way to a 38-21 lead. Minnesota's shooting was even more dismal in the second half, with the team hitting only 25 percent of its shots from the field. The Illini shot 50 percent for the game.
