AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- LSU coach Sue Gunter had good reason to upset with the her Lady Tigers (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today; No. 7 AP).

"We were lucky to come away with a win. We didn't play smart in the second half," Gunter said after the Tigers blew a 15-point lead in the second half before holding on for a 54-52 victory over No. 13 Auburn on Sunday.

LSU (18-3, 7-1 Southeastern Conference) is 5-0 on the road in league play and has won seven straight to move into a tie for first in the league with No. 3 Georgia.

The visiting Tigers led by 15 points with 14:30 left. But Auburn (17-5, 5-4) managed to tie it at 52-52 with 2:25 left.

LSU got the final points on a Marie Ferdinand jump shot with 65 seconds left.

Auburn's LaKeisha Johnson missed a 15-footer with 18 seconds left, then Auburn committed two fouls to put LSU into the bonus. Ferdinand missed a free throw with four seconds left. Auburn got the rebound, but ran out of time before LaRita Spencer couldn't get a shot off before the buzzer.

"We made a good run at the end but fell a little short," Auburn coach Joe Ciampi said. "This is a very disappointing loss for us against a good team."

LSU's Katrina Hibbert scored 21 points, including six 3-pointers, and had five assists. April Brown added 15 points and DeTrina White had 10.

Lori Nero led Auburn with 11 points. LeCoe Willingham added 10, going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

LSU led 36-25 at halftime, hitting 5 of 8 from 3-point range.

Auburn outrebounded LSU 41-28, but was 2 of 11 from 3-point range in the second half.
