MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) -- Lynn Pride collected 21 points and 16 rebounds as No. 23 Kansas opened Big 12 Conference play with a 70-54 victory over Kansas State.

Pride was 9-of-22 from the field as Kansas (10-3, 1-0 Big 12) pulled away in the second half despite shooting only 41 percent (31-of-76).

After struggling to a 29-29 halftime tie, the Jayhawks outscored Kansas State, 41-25, over the final 20 minutes. Kansas dominated on the boards with a 48-35 rebounding edge and committed just nine turnovers.

Suzi Raymont and Jaclyn Johnson added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Jayhawks.

Nicky Ramage scored 17 points for Kansas State (7-8, 0-2), which shot 35 percent (18-of-51) and turned the ball over 18 times. The slumping Wildcats have dropped two straight and six of their last seven games.

Angie Finkes scored 15 points and Kristin Rethman added 13 for Kansas State.
