GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Naomi Mobley had 21 points and 14 rebounds and each starter scored in double figures as Florida handed 18th-ranked Mississippi State its first loss, 85-72, in the Southeastern Conference opener for both schools. Four players scored four points apiece during a 19-6 run for Florida (10-2, 1-0 SEC), which opened a 70-49 cushion with 5:13 left. Tamara Stocks, who finished with 13 points, closed the spurt with a layup. Tonya Washington had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Tiffany Travis scored 13 points and Tombi Bell 12 for the Lady Gators, who have won nine of their last 10 games. The efforts of Mobley and Washington helped Florida to a lopsided 56-32 rebounding advantage. The Lady Gators shot 41 percent (29-of-71) from the field. Nitra Perry had 19 points and 11 rebounds, Jen Fambrough also scored 19 points and LaToya Thomas had 12 for Mississippi State (11-1, 0-1). The Lady Bulldogs shot 41 percent (25-of-61) overall.
