Ron Dayne's day off

ESPN.com

Dear Heisman voters,

Joe Hamilton, Drew Brees and Thomas Jones combined to score exactly one more touchdown than Ron Dayne did on Saturday, and he probably spent the day on his couch playing with his daughter.

Now those three players (and Chad Pennington, who was idle) have had stellar seasons, but Dayne's accomplishments stand head and shoulders above the crowd. The only thing left for Dayne to worry about is keeping all the drool off his shirt thinking about lining up opposite Stanford's defense (which was ranked 113th out of 114 heading into Saturday) in the Rose Bowl.

Thank you for listening.

Cordially yours,
ESPN.com
