RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Jamie Barnette threw for two touchdowns to set an Atlantic Coast Conference record and Kent Passingham kicked three field goals as North Carolina State beat Maryland 30-17 Saturday.

Barnette, playing in his final home game, moved to the top of the ACC career touchdown passing list with 59, two more than Florida State's Danny Kannell.

The Wolfpack (6-4, 3-4 ACC) beat the Terrapins (5-4, 2-4) for the fourth straight time and are one victory shy of being bowl eligible for the second straight year.

Barnette's second TD pass gave the Wolfpack a 24-10 lead in the final seconds of the first half. Barnette was flushed out of the pocket and then threw across his body to wide-open Andy Vanderveer in the end zone with 11 seconds left.

Barnette finished 23-of-37 for 324 yards.

N.C. State increased its lead to 30-10 with 2:33 to go in the third quarter after Passingham kicked field goals of 26 and 31 yards on consecutive possessions.

Maryland, on the verge of its first winning season since 1995, cut the lead to 30-17 on LaMont Jordan's 1-yard touchdown run with 12:12 left in the game.

Jordan, Maryland's top rusher with an average 135.3 yards per game, was held to 75.

After swapping the lead twice early, the Wolfpack went ahead 17-10 on Ray Robinson's 1-yard touchdown run with 3:18 to go in the second quarter.

Maryland jumped to a 7-0 lead when N.C. State's Rahshon Spikes fumbled on the first play of the game and Tony Okanlawon scooped up the loose ball and ran 21 yards for a touchdown.

Barnette quickly got N.C. State into the game by capping a 12-play, 80-yard drive with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Chris Coleman to tie the score at 7-7 with 9:53 remaining in the first quarter.

After Passingham's 27-yard field goal with 13:53 left in the second quarter, the Terrapins moved inside the N.C. State 20, but had to settle for Brian Kopka's 31-yard field goal. It tied the score at 10-10 with 9:12 to go in the half.
