PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Michael Malan rushed for a pair of second-half touchdowns Saturday as Brown retained a share of first place in the Ivy League with a 17-10 victory over Harvard. Malan scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter and a 4-yard run early in the fourth quarter as Brown (7-1, 4-1) rallied from a 10-3 third-quarter deficit and held off the Crimson, which committed six turnovers. The Bears are tied for first with Yale, which defeated Cornell Saturday. Chris Menick rushed for 110 yards on 29 carries for Harvard (5-3, 3-2), and scored on an 11-yard run. Malan's 4-yard scoring run that put Brown ahead to stay with 12:33 left in the game was set up by a 44-yard interception return by Melvin Justice. Harvard's comeback attempts repeatedly came up dry down the stretch. Mike Giampaolo missed a 37-yard field goal with 8:47 to go. And Brad Wilford's fourth-down pass from the Brown 16 fell incomplete in the end zone with 5:03 to go. The Crimson then moved to the Brown 40 with 2:40 to go before Wilford was intercepted by Tony Paquette, clinching the game for the Bears.
