MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) _ Lionel Hayes passed for 303 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Grambling defeated Alabama State 36-13 Saturday.

The Tigers (6-3, 2-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 13-7 at halftime and held the Hornets (1-8, 1-3) to only one touchdown in the second half while scoring two TDs and a field goal.

Hayes completed 18 of 31 passes with no interceptions in leading Grambling. Trey White gained 118 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown, and Scott Anderson caught seven passes for 115 yards and a score. Walter Williams had five receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Alabama State's Cedric Dupree was 12 of 29 for 207 yards passing, with two interceptions, and also rushed for 49 yards on nine carries. Kenneth Watson caught seven passes for 120 yards for the Hornets.
