SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) _ Jimmy Blanchard passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns, and Charles Dunn rushed for 213 yards and two more scores Saturday as Portland State rallied from a 21-0 deficit to beat Cal Poly-SLO 42-28.

Terry Charles caught nine passes for 209 yards and two TDs for the Vikings (7-2), who disappointed a homecoming crowd of 7,058 at Mustang Stadium with their comeback.

Cal Poly's Craig Young opened the scoring with a 45-yard touchdown run, and Jeff Shaw scored on runs of 9 and 6 yards to give Cal Poly (2-6) a 21-0 lead with 3:01 left before halftime.

However, Blanchard threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Charles with 1:38 remaining in the half to begin the Portland State comeback.

The Vikings went ahead for good on three third-quarter TDs _ a 10-yard Blanchard-to-Orshawan Bryant pass; a 48-yard interception return by Rashad Floyd, and a 63-yard run by Dunn.

Blanchard's 61-yard pass to Charles early in the fourth quarter made it 35-21. Cal Poly's Andy Jepson scored on a 1-yard run with 7:44 remaining to cut Portland State's lead to seven points, but Dunn's 12-yard scoring run with 4:02 left clinched the victory for the Vikings.

Blanchard completed 18-of-27 passes without being intercepted or sacked, and Dunn carried 31 times.

Young gained 176 yards on 22 carries and Jepson completed 16-of-29 passes for 178 yards for the Mustangs.
