NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ Quarterback Joe Walland scrambled for a 29-yard touchdown run with 6:41 to play, giving Yale a 23-19 win over Ivy League foe Penn on Saturday.

It was the sixth straight win for Yale (6-1, 2-2 Ivy League) for the first time since 1989 and the first Penn (3-4, 2-2) loss to the Elis in seven consecutive meetings.

Brown and Cornell also scored victories Saturday, giving those two teams a tie for the league lead at 4-1. Yale dropped the first game of the year to Brown and will face Cornell Nov. 6.

Walland's touchdown followed a busted play that he turned into an 18-yard gain. Walland ended with 57 yards rushing; he also completed 24 of 38 passes for 290 yards and one interception.

Yale's Rashad Bartholomew carried the ball 22 times for 90 yards, breaking a streak of three straight games where he rushed for over 100 yards. Jim Keppel caught nine passes for 160 yards. Todd Tomich's fourth-quarter interception tied a school career record (12) held by Vanderveer Kirk, class of 1947.
