KENT, Ohio (AP) _ Jose Davis passed for four touchdowns and ran for another as Kent State broke a four-game losing streak by beating winless Buffalo 41-20 Saturday.

Davis opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run with 11:27 left in the first period on Kent State's first possession to cap a seven-play, 73-yard drive.

Andre Forde returned the following kickoff 44 yards, and Joe Freedy hit Drew Haddad on a 51-yard scoring pass on Buffalo's first play from scrimmage to tie the score.

Davis threw scoring passes of 10 yards to Jason Gavadza in the first period and 11 yards to James Gamble in the second for Kent (2-7, 2-4 Mid-American). He also had a 19-yard scoring pass to Gavadza in the third quarter and a 5-yard TD pass to Joel Reikowski in the fourth.

Davis completed 24 of 34 passes for 296 yards with three interceptions.

Buffalo (0-8, 0-7), trailing 31-7 after the third quarter, scored twice in the fourth quarter on TD passes by Freedy _ 7 yards to Haddad with 14:56 to play and 10 yards to Forde with 2:10 left.

Freedy finished 10-for-18 for 165 yards without an interception.
