BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) _ Shane Ricketts scored two second-half touchdowns in his first game at fullback to lead Western Kentucky to a 21-15 victory over Murray State on Saturday night.

Ricketts, a senior who had spent his Western career at linebacker and tight end, scored on a 10-yard run with 13:49 left in the game to put Western Kentucky ahead for good at 14-12.

After forcing a Murray State punt, the Hilltoppers drove 60 yards in six plays, capped by Ricketts' 14-yard scoring burst for a 21-12 lead.

Ricketts finished with four carries for 28 yards.

Western Kentucky (4-1, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference) took an early 7-0 lead on quarterback Donte Pimpleton's 11-yard TD run.

Murray State (1-3, 1-1 OVC) answered on its next possession, when quarterback Justin Fuente threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Joe Perez. Greg Miller missed the extra point.

Murray State took a 12-7 lead when Justin Bivins ran 11 yards for a touchdown on the second play of the second quarter. The Racers failed on a two-point conversion try.

Fuente completed 27 of 47 passes for 272 yards, but was intercepted once and sacked three times in the second half.

Rod Smart rushed for 102 yards on 18 carries for Western Kentucky.
