MOBILE, Ala. (AP) _ Troy Williams passed for 124 yards and two touchdowns as Southern defeated Alabama State 36-13 Saturday night in the Gulf Coast Classic.

The Jaguars (4-0 overall, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 14-7 at halftime and added three more touchdowns, including the two on Williams' passes, and a field goal in the second half. Williams hit Hay Gallien with a 4-yarder and Calvin Mills with a 15-yarder.

Southern's Kerry Bowie returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Anton Jackson passed for 204 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama State (0-4, 0-2).

Ryan Lewis rush for 177 yards and one touchdown for the Jaguars, who had 288 rushing yards compared to 68 for the Hornets.

Alabama State passed for 211 yards, while Southern had only 124 yards through the air.
