KENT, Ohio (AP) _ Jose Davis passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns as Kent State ended the nation's longest losing streak at 16 with a 41-27 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday night.

Davis, who completed 22 of 33 passes without an interception, began the scoring with a 20-year TD pass to Jason Gavadza on Kent State's first possession.

On the following play, Joe Alls fumbled the kickoff and Abdur Khan returned it 19 yards for a touchdown as Kent State (1-3, 1-0 Mid-American) went ahead 14-0.

Davis also threw touchdown passes of 15 yards to Jurron Kelly with 15 seconds left in the first quarter and 21 yards to Kelly with 10:58 left in the third.

Chante Murphy carried the ball 32 times for 166 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown in the second quarter as the Golden Flashes widened their lead to 31-6.

Dave Pavich kicked field goals of 20 yards in the first quarter and 26 in the fourth for Kent State.

Bowling Green (1-3, 0-1) was led by Ricky Schneider, who completed 22 of 49 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns. He was intercepted three times.
