BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ Mike Moschetti threw two touchdown passes before leaving the game with a knee injury, and Jeremy Aldrich kicked a school-record five field goals as Colorado routed Kansas 51-17 on Saturday.

The Buffaloes (2-1), avenging a 33-17 upset at the hands of the Jayhawks last year, raced to a 33-3 lead early in the third quarter.

After Kansas (1-2) rallied for two quick touchdowns to make it 33-17, the Buffs added 18 points in the first three minutes of the final period, including cornerback Ben Kelly's 96-yard TD return with a fumble recovery.

Moschetti, who set school records for passing yards and total offense in last week's 63-35 victory over San Jose State, threw second-quarter scoring passes of 21 yards to Javon Green and 16 yards to Marcus Stiggers.

Moschetti also established a school mark for consecutive completions at 15. Moschetti, who completed his last nine passes a week ago, completed a 25-yard pass to John Minardi midway through the first quarter for his sixth straight completion of the day, breaking the school record of 14 set by Koy Detmer against Colorado State in 1996.

His next attempt fell incomplete, and Moschetti departed late in the half with a sprained left knee.

Aldrich kicked field goals of 49, 42, 48, 41 and 40 yards, setting a Colorado standard for most field goals in a game. He also broke the Colorado career field-goal record with 37, one more than Tom Field (1979-83).

The Buffs took the opening kickoff and drove 77 yards in 14 plays for a 7-0 lead. Moschetti was 5-of-5 for 51 yards and Cortlen Johnson dived the final yard.

After an exchange of fumbles, Aldrich kicked a 49-yarder.

On the second play of the second quarter, defensive end Tyler Brayton deflected a pass from Dylen Smith and linebacker Drew Wahlroos made a diving interception at the Kansas 21. On the next play, Moschetti hit Green for a TD.

Moschetti's scoring pass to Stiggers made it 24-0 with 7:47 left in the period.

After another Aldrich field goal, Smith drove the Jayhawks 73 yards for a 24-yard field goal by Joe Garcia with 44 seconds left in the half.

With Zac Colvin replacing Moschetti on the next series, Aldrich kicked a 48-yarder as time expired in the half.

Smith's 8-yard scoring pass to Michael Chandler and Greg Erb's recovery of a blocked punt in the end zone keyed the Jayhawks' brief third-period rally.

Kansas tailback David Winbush, who burned Colorado for 268 yards rushing and three TDs last year, was held to 12 yards and left the game in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle.

Colorado kicker Katie Hnida, bidding to become the first female to play in a Division I-A game, suited up for the first time but didn't play.
