LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Darren Davis rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns as Iowa State spoiled UNLV's home opener with a 24-0 victory Saturday night, handing coach John Robinson his first loss with the Runnin' Rebels.

Davis, who had 37 carries, scored on two 1-yard runs in the first half for the Cyclones (3-0).

Robinson, the former Southern California and Los Angeles Rams coach, had guided UNLV (2-1) to victories at North Texas and Baylor, the latter coming on a last-play, 99-yard fumble return.

The Cyclones, who limited the Rebels to only 106 yards and six first downs, led 17-0 at halftime.

The Cyclones took the opening kickoff 80 yards on 11 straight rushes for a touchdown. Davis capped the drive with a 1-yard dive up the middle with 10:04 left in the first quarter.
