LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) _ Quarterback Jay Stoner keyed two third-quarter touchdown drives, and Tim Beasley and Jon Jennings each scored twice as Wyoming overcame a sluggish first half to beat Division I-AA Weber State 41-16 Saturday.

Wyoming (1-1) gained 488 yards and scored 31 straight points against Weber State (1-1). The 41 points were the most by the Cowboys since a 41-17 win in 1997 against San Diego State.

Jennings rushed for 116 yards, caught a 29-yard TD pass and ran for a 1-yard score. Beasley scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards, and Aaron Elling kicked two field goals, including a career-best 55-yarder.

Wyoming struggled to a 13-10 halftime lead.

The Cowboys' only touchdown in the opening half came on a 28-yard TD pass from backup quarterback Matt Swanson to Willie King. Swanson entered the game after Stoner, who injured his shoulder in the opening game loss at Tennessee and wasn't announced as a starter until Thursday, was ineffective.

Swanson's TD pass capped a 14-play, 80-yard drive with 3:14 left in the second and gave the Cowboys their first lead of the game.

Weber scored first when Dusty Harris hit Phil Hazel with a 2-yard TD pass in the first quarter. The score was set up when Weber linebacker Jason Allen picked of a pass by Stoner at the Wyoming 33 and returned it 22 yards. Mike Minnoch also connected on a 47-yard field goal in the first quarter.

Stoner started the second half and led Wyoming to touchdowns on its first two possessions for a 27-10 lead.

On the first drive, Stoner flipped a third-down pass to Jennings for a 16-yard gain while being tackled. Jennings later scored on a 1-yard run.

Stoner, who completed 10 of 14 passes for 161 yards, set up the second TD by connecting with Kofi Shuck on a 64-yard pass play. Beasley finished off the five-play, 69-yard drive with a 1-yard plunge.

The Wyoming defense, which gave up 135 yards in the first half, held Weber to just 66 in the third quarter.

Swanson replaced Stoner in the fourth quarter, leading the Cowboys to two more scores, including the 29-yard pass to Jennings. Swanson finished 4-of-7 for 77 yards.

Derek Poole scored Weber's final touchdown on a 2-yard run.

Morgan Welch led Weber with 67 yards rushing, 56 in the first half.
