Bowling Green 40, Tennessee Tech 15

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) _ Ricky Schneider passed for two touchdowns, and Joe Alls and Brent Martin each rushed for a touchdown as Bowling Green beat Tennessee Tech 40-15 Saturday.

Bowling Green (1-1) took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on Alls' 5-yard run and Schneider's 10-yard touchdown pass to Kurt Gerling.

The Golden Eagles got field goals of 48 yards and 37 yards from David Collett to close to 14-6 by halftime. Collett also made a 39-yard field goal in the third.

E. Hendrix ran in a blocked punt from 5 yards out for a touchdown. Martin rushed for a 1-yard touchdown and caught a 20-yard TD pass from Schneider to give the Falcons a 37-9 lead at the end of the third.

Schneider was 12-of-17 for 143 yards with one interception.

Tennessee Tech (0-1), a Division I-AA team, made it 37-15 when Tory Lane caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Michael Peeples. Collett's extra point attempted failed.

Peeples was 17-for-31 with two interceptions.

Bowling Green had only 20 more yards in total offense (265) than Tennessee Tech (245), but the Falcons' defense forced three fumbles and had four sacks.
