KENT, Ohio (AP) _ Quarterback Brian Broadwater rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one as Navy defeated Kent 48-28 Saturday night. Broadwater rushed 24 times for 137 yards and completed 14 of 18 passes for 187 yards. Broadwater opened the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run, and scored from 2 yards out in the second quarter. He threw a 6-yard TD pass to Brandon Rampani in the fourth quarter. Travis Williams caught five passes for 110 yards for the Midshipmen (1-1). Navy's Raheem Lambert ran 17 times for 99 yards. Jose Davis completed 20-of-36 for 279 yards and two touchdowns for Kent (0-2). Davis also ran 12 times for 61 yards and a touchdown. Jason Gavadza caught four passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns for the Golden Flashes. Navy scored three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter and led 28-7 at halftime. The Midshipmen were up 41-14 before Davis had a 7-yard touchdown run for Kent with less than five minutes to go in the game. Kent's Shawn Shoemaker returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
