INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Junior quarterback David Dinkins ran for two touchdowns and threw for three more Saturday to lead Morehead State to a 56-34 victory over Butler.

Dinkins ran for 129 yards on 19 carries and threw for 187 yards on 15-of-24 passing. His two 1-yard touchdown runs came in the second quarter and gave Morehead State a 27-14 halftime lead.

Butler challenged in the fourth quarter and closed to within 49-34 with 6:05 remaining. But Morehead State's T.J. Perry intercepted a DeWayne Ewing pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown with 1:36 left to play, sealing the Eagles' victory.

Ewing completed 18-of-32 passes for a career-high 310 yards and two touchdowns. He threw scoring passes of 68 yards to tailback Dale Jennings and 41 yards to wide receiver Kyle Conner.

Morehead State rolled up 444 yards on the ground and 631 yards in total offense.
