SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Adrian Peterson carried 22 times for 156 yards and four touchdowns to lead Georgia Southern to a 55-15 victory Saturday night over Wofford in the Southern Conference opener for both teams. Peterson's final carry of the game was a 73-yard scoring run that gave the Eagles (2-0) a 48-7 lead with 42 seconds left in the third quarter. Georgia Southern had 491 yards of total offense, with Peterson accounting for almost half of the Eagles' 306 rushing yards. Wofford (0-1) led briefly in the first quarter when Travis Wilson connected with Jeff Scott for a 26-yard touchdown pass, putting the Terriers up 7-6.
