TULSA, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Micahel Wall threw a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to break open a tight game as Tulsa defeated Southwest Missouri State, 45-21, in the season opener for both schools. Holiding a slim 16-14 lead in the third quarter, the Golden Hurricanes (1-0) broke open the game with 22 unanswered points in the period. Ken Bohanon ran three yards for a touchdown to start the burst, Wall hit Brian Savage with an 18-yard TD pass and D.J. Barnett plunged over from one yard, giving Tulsa a 38-14 cushion entering the final period. Wall completed an impressive 14-of-15 passes for 175 yards and also hooked up with Savage on a five-yard TD pass in the before the half. John Mosley carried 22 times for 161 yards and a touchdown to lead Tulsa's ground attack. Jason Ringena rushed for 96 yards on 16 carries to lead the Bears. Jay Rodgers was 14-of-24 for 166 yards without an interception. Tulsa improved to 6-0 in the all-time series against Southwest Missouri State.
