Pennsylvania playbook: The Jordan rules

Michael Jordan is Penn's leading scorer and assist man on a team that finished its Ivy League season undefeated and earned the league's automatic bid. Okay, so he doesn't impact the game like the Michael Jordan who won six rings with the Chicago Bulls. But he is pretty good -- and opponents have a separate set of rules for him.

ANIMATE THIS PLAY DIAGRAM WITH SHOCKWAVE
(A) Matt Langel (20) the Quakers' solid point guard, dribbles right off a screen from Ugonna Onyekwe (1).

(B) Michael Jordan (23) starts on the right side of the floor and runs baseline off a pair of screens to create separation between him and his defender.

(C) Jordan (23) gets the ball on the wing and penetrates into the paint with help from another Onyekwe (1) screen.

(D) Jordan can either shoot the short jumper or dish to dish to big man Geoff Owens (51) inside. He probably will never win the NBA scoring title or MVP award, but this Jordan did with the Ivy League MVP, and hopes to help the Quakers to a win or two in the NCAA Tournament.
