Hofstra playbook: The Wright moves

Hofstra heads to the tourney for the first time since 1977. Led by Craig "Speedy" Claxton, the Flying Dutchmen bring a 24-6 record with them. Claxton, the America East Player of the Year, averages more than 22 points per game. It is coach Jay Wright's job to design ways to get Speedy the ball.

(A) Craig Claxton (10) handles the ball, and can dish it out as well as take it. (B) At first he heads down the lane, but, finding his way blocked, he passes out to Hernandez (12).

(C) Jason Hernandez (12) gets the same idea and also heads down the lane. He eventually dishes to Claxton (10) in the corner. (D) With the floor ahead inviting him, Claxton can either shoot or drive. Either way, the ball is going up.
