Cincinnati playbook: Filling the grand Kenyon

The Cincinnati Bearcats often look like men against boys when they play, and it shows in their record. The Bearcats have rolled through most of their season, led by a pair of senior frontcourt mates -- Kenyon Martin and Pete Mickeal. Mmmm Mmmm, are they good!

But without Martin, Cincinnati is now merely a threat to reach the Sweet 16 -- if the Bearcats can go that far. Martin's replacement, Ryan Fletcher, has to step up -- and so do the rest of the 'Cats -- if they're going to advance at all.

(A) Ryan Fletcher (24) sets a big, high screen for Kenny Satterfield (11) to get the action started.
(B) After freshman backcourt mate DerMarr Johnson (3) clears out of a Pete Mickeal (32) screen, Satterfield passes back and hits Mickeal on the wing.

(C) Mickeal (32) shoots better than 53 percent from the field and can knock down the 3-pointer, so defenses have to respect him all over the floor.
(D) Fletcher (24) screens for Mickeal and rolls to the basket. The Bearcats loved to run this with Kenyon Martin, and Fletcher has to fill in for them to succeed in the tournament.
