LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Scoring 101 points pleased Kansas (No. 4 ESPN/USA Today, No. 3 AP). Holding Boise State to 61 delighted the Jayhawks even more.
Kenny Gregory had 25 points and 11 rebounds and every Kansas
starter reached double figures in the Jayhawks' 101-61 victory Monday night.

"I was really proud of our defense," Gregory said. "Our
defense dictated a game for the first time this season and that's
something to build on."
The Broncos, opening the season with five of their first six
games on the road, led 9-7 when Booker Nabors put in a short
jumper.
The taller, quicker, deeper Jayhawks countered with a 50-15 run
against the visitors from the Big West Conference.
"That is dominating," said 7-foot-1 Eric Chenowith, who had a
five-inch height advantage on Boise State center Richard Morgan.
"It's nice to score 50 points. But it's even nicer to hold them
to 15 points. We know we can score. The challenge is going to be
for us to play well defensively."
The Broncos, who lost 73-61 to No. 16 Cincinnati in their
opener, had just one starter over 6-7 while the Jayhawks had three.
Kansas, which has won 34 in a row in the month of November,
outrebounded Boise State 48-22 and shot 62 percent, marking the
fourth straight game the Jayhawks were better than 50 percent.
"That was probably the worst loss of my life," said Boise
State's Clint Hordemann, who was 2-for-5 from the floor and 0-for-2
from the foul line.
"An atmosphere like this, you go into with nothing but respect.
They had my attention from the outset."
Kansas started the second half with a 9-0 run, but never got the
lead past 42 as Abe Jackson and Kejaun Woods began hitting from the
outside and the Jayhawks got a bit careless.
"The first couple of minutes I thought we'd have a real tough
game on our hands," said Gregory, who was just two points from
matching his career-high.
"But after we got after it a little more, I expected a little
more out of them. They have potential, but we just played great
defense tonight."
Boise State never got closer than 31 in the second half. Woods
had 22 for the Broncos, who dropped to 2-15 all-time against ranked
opponents.
Jackson was 0-for-4 from the floor in the first half and wound
up with nine points, just the fourth time in 33 games he failed to
hit double figures.
"They were playing pretty good defense on me," said Jackson, a
Kansas native who has attended several of Kansas coach Roy
Williams' summer camps. "They were a lot better than Cincinnati."
Kansas is 4-0 for the 10th year in a row.
Drew Gooden had 20 points for the Jayhawks. Chenowith had 15
points and 13 rebounds while Jeff Boschee had 14 points and Kirk
Hinrich had 10 points and 10 assists.
