Comments: Pistons, Celtics fans unhappy

ESPN.com

Every week there's a legion of fans that feels their team was underrated in the Power Rankings. This makes sense. Not every team can be happy in its spot. Think Miami's happy? This week fans of the Pistons gripe about moving up to No. 4 because of our comments, Clipper fans want more and a Laker fan gets greedy.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Ilgauskas has Cavs fans believing!
Of course, there was so much more from our users this week. We did get a nice cross-section of comments on many teams. Here are some of them.

One-two punch and more...
Celtics team page
The Celtics are No. 10!!! That seemed amazing and then I looked at the teams ahead of them. Will Detroit remain ahead of Boston? I don't think so. And the rest is the West (with the exception of Toronto). I suspect that the Celtics are playoff bound, and I don't think Joe Johnson has much to do with it (although he'll help). Title contenders? Not this year, but they have the best chance in the league at having a one-two punch that can compare with the Lakers. Better than Dirk and Mike, better than Big Dog and Ray Allen, and better than Marbury and Penny. All those other teams have much better supporting casts, but the top two are better on the Cs.

Deserving better...
Clippers team page
I think the Clips deserve a better spot than No. 21 in the Power Rankings. The quality win over the T-Wolves and the blowout win versus the Pacers should prove that. But those teams are ranked much higher than the Clips. Give them their respect, please.

Perfect in last...
Heat team page
And here I was all ready to argue why the Heat should be on the bottom of the list considering they've been given high rankings since the beginning of last season. Now I'm glad to finally see them right where they belong. Nice job guys.

For the love of Sactown...
Kings team page
Thank you for fixing the rankings. For the love of Sactown if you guys rank the Spurs above the Kings one more time, I'll hire a hacker to send you guys a virus! It seems like if a team beats the Kings, you treat that as cause to move a team up. But the Kings have to almost be perfect AND have some teams lose to hold a spot or move up. However, the rest of the rankings look good, though.

Lakers are overrated...
Spurs team page
San Antonio is the best team in the league ... by far. I think the Lakers are WAY overrated. I don't want to hear about them until January 19. The best defensive center, power forward and small forward in the West are on the Spurs. Defense wins championships, let's not forget. The best rookie is on the Spurs. In June, the Spurs will be hoisting up the hardware. The Spurs are No. 1.

At least wait till they stink...
Warriors team page
You are high -- ranking the Warriors 27th when they're 7-11? Worse than the Grizz and the Bulls? I know they're not a great team, but 27th? You're insane. They had a "horrible" week, but not a horrible season (yet). At least wait for them to actually be horrible for more than a week before you put them there. Were you once a Warrior fan? If not, what's your excuse for being so down on them after one bad week in the first 18 games? Geez, next thing you know, you'll have the Pistons in the top 4. Oh man....

Stick 'em at No. 2...
Lakers team page
Being a life-long Laker fan it's getting so dull seeing them at the top of the Power rankings week after week. Can you put them in the No. 2 spot just for giggles. I think the rest of the league is suffering from severe a complex after looking up at the Lakers every week. Thanks.

No chance of playoffs...
Pistons team page
It's really not even worth putting the Pistons at No. 5 because everyone knows (except die-hard Pistons fans still talking about the bad boys from a decade ago) that they stink and that there's no chance of them winning a playoff round. Jerry Stackhouse and Cliff Robinson? Pleeeeeeeze!

All aboard Z train...
Cavs team page
For your sake, you better hope Zydrunas Ilgauskas breaks a foot, because if he doesn't the Cavs are the 7th or 8th seed in the East. You will be doing more backpedaling than Hasim Rahman in his rematch with Lennox Lewis. But then again you are ESPN and backpedaling and jumping on bandwagons is what you do best! Keep up the good work! All aboard the Z train!

Have no faith...
Pistons team page
You guys have no faith in the Pistons. You seem to look for reasons to drop them. Even though the Pistons come out flat every once in a while, they are for real and a true contender in the East and will be for years to come. With big men galore and two shooting wizards this team will have to be contended with come playoff time.
