I like the shooting of Dirk Nowitzki. I watched him at the All-Star Game last year knock down 3-pointer after 3-pointer at the shootaround. He can catch and shoot quickly. He has the size to shoot over a defender without flinching and he does a good job of not allowing himself to be distracted. I actually picked him to win the Three-Point Contest last year. But he lacks a bit of experience which was the difference. I like the way Nowitzki shoots, but Stojakovic is a fine shooter as well. We'll enjoy watching these two put 'em up for years. |

Both of these players are tremendous shooters. But Predrag Stojakovic is really coming into his own this season and probably gets the edge when comparing the two. Through the early part of this season the stats bear that out. Nowitzki is shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from 3-point range while Stojakovic is hitting on 49.4 percent of his shots and 52.2 from behind the arc (through five and six games respectively). With the Kings running an up tempo style of play, Stojakovic figures to get more shots and score more points per game. So, not only are Stojakovic's statistics better at the moment, he also seems to be acclimating himself to the NBA game and should only get more deadly as a shooter.
