DALLAS -- Wang Zhizhi became the first Chinese player in an
NBA game and delivered chalupas to the crowd Thursday night for the Dallas Mavericks.

Wang scored the two points that put the Mavericks over the century mark in their 108-94 victory over Atlanta. In a common NBA promotion, when the home team scores 100 points, coupons for free chalupas are given to the everyone in the stands.
Wang finished with six points on 2-for-5 shooting from the field, and went 2-for-2 at the line.
The 7-foot-1, 255-pound forward went in to a standing ovation
with 26.8 seconds left in the first half and Dallas leading 58-37.
After a made free throw by Atlanta, the Mavericks got Wang the
ball near the basket, but he lost it while trying to spin around
defender Nazr Mohammed.
Wang, 23, signed a two-year contract Wednesday, but isn't
expected to play much the rest of this season because the Mavericks
are fighting for playoff position. Coach-general manager Don Nelson
said he hasn't decided whether to include Wang on the postseason
roster.
Last month, Wang's Chinese Army team won its sixth consecutive league championship. He will return to his country this summer and
represent it in several international competitions.
