Sore back puts Johnson on bench again
Associated Press
|
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. New York forward Larry Johnson and
New Jersey guard Lucious Harris missed Friday night's Knicks-Nets
game due to injuries.
Johnson missed his second straight game with a chronically sore
back that has been giving him more pain since he stopped taking
anti-inflammatory pills several days ago. Johnson, who hasn't
played since the first half of the Knicks' game Tuesday night, is
being listed as day-to-day, Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy said.
Harris strained his right calf against Philadelphia on
Wednesday.
Also for New Jersey, center Jamie Feick's left foot has been placed in an immobilizing boot to protect his sore Achilles
tendon, and he is probably through for the season, coach Byron
Scott said.
Feick had surgery on his Achilles tendon and missed the first
50 games of the regular season. The four-year veteran played in six
games before hurting it again. He has not played since Feb. 21.
