PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson is
not expected to miss any playing time with a mild ankle sprain.
Iverson, who injured his left ankle in the 76ers' 117-97
exhibition victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, was
examined by team physician Dr. Jack McPhillemy on Saturday.

Iverson is listed as probable for Sunday's preseason game
against Utah.
Iverson, the NBA's leading scorer two years ago and runner-up
last season, was injured with 11:39 left in Friday's game. After
scoring 20 points, he turned the ankle while going after a
defensive rebound.
Iverson was helped to his feet, carried to the visitors' locker
room at the MCI Center and did not return to the game.
Iverson has played through numerous injuries during his
five-year career. He missed 10 games with a broken thumb early last
season. He also played with a partially torn and bruised rotator cuff, a
chip fracture in his right ankle, a broken left toe and inflamed
right elbow.
"Allen is OK," 76ers coach Larry Brown said Friday night after the game. "I saw what
happened. He's pretty tough."
Said Iverson: "It's sore, but it is not broken, thank God. I don't ever think anything is broken, but I got scared. That's life. It's all about bouncing back. ... I will come
back when God says it is time for me to go." | |
