Early entry candidate for the 2000 NBA Draft. Named Honorable Mention All-America by The Associated Press as a sophomore. Started 64 of 65 games in two years at St. John's. Was a First Team All-Big East Conference selection as a sophomore after being a unanimous choice for the Big East All-Rookie Team following his freshman season. His 302 assists rank 10th on the school's all-time list. He also recorded 167 steals, fifth-best ever at SJU. His 2.6 steals per game average is the best in school history. College highlights at St. John’s Despite missing five games as a sophomore, led the team in scoring (16.0 ppg), assists (4.5 apg) and steals (3.0 spg, 12th in nation). Scored 20 or more points seven times, including a four-game stretch where he averaged 23.8 ppg. Scored 19 points in the Big East Championship game win over Connecticut.
