Position: Guard BirthDate: Sept. 10, 1978 Birthplace: Kaisiadorys, Lithuania Highlights Missed half of this past season after suffering broken right hand in October that kept him out until February. European scouts credit him as a creative offensive player with excellent leaping ability who prefers to take the ball to the basket. Also has excellent three-point range. College highlights--N/APlayed for Lithuanian Junior National Team, appearing at the 1998 European Championships in Sicily. Averaged 10 ppg in that competition, with a top game of 21 points vs Dirk Nowitzki and Germany. Began career with Sakalai Vilnius in 1996-97 and played two seasons there (also 1997-98). Signed with Lietuvos Rytas and has played for that team the past two seasons. After recovering from hand injury, played his best basketball of the season in Saporta Cup competition. In nine games, averaged 14.2 points and 5.8 rebounds, shooting over 62 percent from the field on two-point field goals. Had 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists in game vs. Porto of Portugal. Tallied 18 points in rematch with Porto. In a contest vs. Maccabi Rishon of Israel, compiled 18 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. In 1998-99 in first season with Lietuvos Rytas, made impressive debut, averaging 15.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Helped team to Lithuanian League final against European Champion Zalgiris Kaunas. In 1997-98 season with Sakalai Vilnius, averaged 13.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Scored 23 points vs. highly-regarded Atletas. Had at least 17 points in 10 games for the season. Hit for season-high 31 points vs. Siauliai. Also tallied 23 points in 29 minutes vs. Silute. Toured United States in fall of 1998, playing exhibition games against Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and New Mexico Scored 27 points at the McKale Center against Arizona.
