DENVER (AP) _ Greg Buckner scored 16 points and Christian Laettner added 14 points and seven rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks won for the sixth time in seven exhibition games, a 104-88 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Dallas, which allowed an average of 101 points a year ago, has not allowed an opponent to reach triple digits in the preseason. Tracy Murray had 16 points for the Nuggets, who have lost five of seven preseason games. Denver shot 40 percent for the game but was only 5-of-14 from the field in the fourth quarter. Dallas led 56-53 at halftime as Michael Finley scored 11 points. Antonio McDyess had 13 for Denver, but left the game late in the first quarter with lower back spasms and did not return. Nick Van Exel's fadeaway jumper gave the Nuggets their first lead of the second half, 64-63, with 6:20 left in the third quarter. The Mavericks then went on a 20-4 run with Laettner and Eduardo Najera scoring five points each as Dallas took an 83-68 lead into the fourth quarter. Two baskets by Buckner early in the fourth quarter extended the lead to 89-69. John Celestand's 3-pointer with 4:24 made it 100-77 and the Mavericks cruised the rest of the way.
