SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- With all the other options on the Spurs, Jaren Jackson is just an afterthought to opposing defenses. But he made the Dallas Mavericks pay on Saturday. "Hopefully, they'll continue to double down," Jackson said after his career-high seven 3-pointers helped San Antonio to a 106-90 rout of the Mavericks. "(Opponents) are doing their best to cut down our No. 1 option, which is going to Tim (Duncan)." Jackson, who finished with 23 points, gave the Spurs their 18th straight regular-season victory at home, a span that began last season. "Overall it was a good defensive effort against a team that's hard to guard," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "They can get up and down the court, and all of their guys have the green light to let it fly." The Spurs won despite making a franchise-low two of five foul shots. San Antonio led 35-32 with 4:09 left in the first half before Jackson scored eight straight points, including a pair of 3-pointers. The Spurs led 48-36 at the break and Dallas never got within double digits in the second half. Jackson, averaging five points a game, took 16 shots from 3-point range and hit a career-high seven. "Our team is all about the big picture, when the playoffs come around," said Spurs guard Avery Johnson. "We paid a little more attention to detail and our concentration was there." The Spurs, concerned about perimeter defense following recent losses to Utah and Milwaukee, held the Mavericks to only 3-for-8 from the 3-point line and 37 of 92 (40.2 percent) overall. Tim Duncan scored 14 points and added 17 rebounds for the Spurs. Michael Finley scored 19 points for Dallas while Dirk Nowizski scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Game notesThe Spurs haven't lost at home since March 26, a 93-91 defeat by Toronto. ... San Antonio is now 35-7 in its last 42 games against the Mavericks, dating to the 1990-91 season. The Spurs lead the all-time series 61-40.... Saturday marked the first of four meetings between the Spurs and Mavericks. The teams play again Dec. 14 in Dallas. ....
