UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) _ Allen Iverson was knocked around by the Knicks but still scored 26 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to an 85-76 exhibition victory over New York on Tuesday night in a tedious, foul-plagued game.

Theo Ratliff of Philadelphia and John Wallace of New York were injured during the game, neither seriously. Ratliff sprained his left ankle in a collision with New York's Charlie Ward, and Wallace suffered a bruised kneecap when he bumped into Aaron McKie.

Iverson was leveled twice by Marcus Camby and once apiece by Andrew Lang and Allan Houston, the latter coming on a corner jump shot with 1:26 remaining that gave the 76ers an 81-74 lead.

``Apparently they feel that works against me, but that just wakes me up, keeps me in tune with the game and makes me play a lot harder. That's no way to stop Allen Iverson, I'm just going to get back up,'' he said.

The officials whistled 75 fouls in the 2-hour, 41-minute game, signaling that the NBA's crackdown on physical play is not to be taken lightly. The teams combined to shoot 83 foul shots.

Allan Houston led the Knicks with 16 points and Kurt Thomas had 15. Larry Hughes and rookie Todd MacCulloch added 11 each for Philadelphia.

Ratliff hurt his ankle early in the third quarter and didn't return. The 76ers were already without Matt Geiger (knee contusion), Tyrone Hill (injured left thumb) and Billy Owens (sore knee).

``I'll be OK,'' Ratliff said. ``He (Ward) undercut me a little it, but it wasn't a dirty play.''

Wallace's injury further depleted the Knicks at small forward, where Larry Johnson is already sidelined for 7-10 days with a sprained foot. New York also was without Patrick Ewing (Achilles' tendinitis) and Chris Dudley (knee ligament).

``I did the same thing to the other knee in training camp and was back the next day,'' Wallace said. ``It's just sore right now.''

Latrell Sprewell of the Knicks sat out in street clothes. The Knicks didn't permit him to play because he missed the first week of training camp in an unexcused absence.
