RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Mike Bibby made a layup at the buzzer and scored 15 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter as the Vancouver Grizzlies erased an 18-point second-half deficit to beat the Houston Rockets 102-100 Tuesday night.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 21 for Vancouver, which won only its second game since Feb. 26 _ a span of 18 contests.

Rookie Steve Francis scored 30 for Houston, including a driving layup with 5.9 seconds left to tie the game.

The only excitement in the first three quarters for the 12,474 fans came in the form of booing Francis, whose second game in Vancouver since forcing the Grizzlies into making a three-team, 10-player trade last summer was no less hospitable than his first outing Nov. 29.

The Grizzlies were forced to go to a smaller lineup earlier than usual when forward Othella Harrington was ejected by referee Bob Delaney at 7:45 of the first period. Harrington was given a delay of game warning for failing to leave the court quickly during a substitution, which was followed by the quick ejection.

The Rockets were constantly left open in the post, making 10 of 13 shots to end the second period. Houston had an 8-0 run to open the third, followed later by a dunk by Francis over Vancouver 7-footer Bryant Reeves, to open a 71-53 lead midway through the period.

Vancouver responded with an 12-4 spurt to start the fourth and eventually took the lead at 89-87 with 5:43 left.

Bibby shot 5-of-8 in the final period to key the Vancouver comeback. The Vancouver point guard also had 10 assists, his fourth straight game in double digits, a franchise record.

Notes: Harrington's ejection resulted in the first minutes since Mar. 21 for Cherokee Parks of Vancouver. ...Francis started play leading the Rockets in scoring, assists and steals. If he finishes the season in the same position, he will become only the fourth Houston player in franchise history to do so, following Calvin Murphy (1975), Allen Leavell (1983) and Clyde Drexler (1998). ... The Grizzlies wrap up a franchise-high nine-game homestand Thursday with the start of a home-and-home series with Portland.
