MIAMI (AP) _ P.J. Brown and Alonzo Mourning sparked a third-quarter rally that lead the Miami Heat over the Golden State Warriors 115-100 Wednesday night. Brown scored seven points and Mourning six during a 16-5 run that gave Miami an 87-75 lead with 1:14 left in the third. The Heat maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way. Jamal Mashburn scored 26 points for Miami, his fifth straight game with 20 or more. Mourning scored 17, as did rookie Rodney Buford, his season high. Antawn Jamison and Mookie Blaylock scored 17 points for Golden State, Donyell Marshall 16, Erick Dampier 15, and John Starks 14. Marshall added 12 rebounds. Mourning left with 1:01 to play after landing on his right wrist while fighting for a rebound. Brown and Mourning also contributed on the boards, particularly during the pivotal third quarter. Brown finished with 13 rebounds, nine in the third, and Mourning with 12, six in the third. The entire Warriors team had nine third-period boards. Golden State, just 12-34, had won six of its previous 10. But its last five losses have been by a total of 87 points _ 17.6 per game. The Warriors have lost three straight by 20, 20, and 15 points. Miami built a 10-point lead late in the second quarter, but Golden State scored the final nine points of the period, four by Dampier, closing to 59-58 at halftime. Notes: With two blocked shots, Mourning increased his season total to a team-record 190. He twice finished with 189. ... Golden State's Erick Dampier got the game off to an unusual start. He controlled the opening tip, but propelled the ball so hard into his backcourt that none of his teammates could reach it before it went over the end line. The Heat got possession under their own basket. ... The Heat extended their NBA record for consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer to 472.
