LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Darrell Armstrong had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead a balanced Orlando attack Sunday night as the Magic beat the Los Angeles Clippers 102-89. In a matchup of two slumping teams, the Magic won for just the third time in 16 games while the Clippers lost their eighth straight and 12th in the last 13. Tariq Abdul-Wahad added 15 points and Charles Outlaw had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Magic, who had six players score in double figures. Derek Anderson scored 20 points to lead the Clippers. Maurice Taylor had 19 points, 12 rebounds to equal a season high and a career-high five assists, and Lamar Odom added 18 points. The Clippers scored the first six points of the fourth quarter _ four by Taylor _ to trim Orlando's lead to four points. But that was as close as they would get. Chris Gatling, who had 11 points and nine rebounds, scored five straight points to trigger an 8-0 run by the Magic, making it 93-81 with four minutes remaining. The Magic outscored the Clippers 14-6 to start the second half for a 64-55 lead. Los Angeles wasn't closer than four points after that. It was 79-69 entering the fourth period. Neither team led by more than five points in the first half, which ended with Orlando on top 50-49. Notes: The announced attendance at Staples Center was 10,312. ... Backup Clippers center Keith Closs wasn't in uniform, having been suspended indefinitely after missing practice Saturday, the latest in a series of incidents. Coach Chris Ford said before the game he spoke with Closs earlier in the day, and the two will probably meet Monday. ... The Clippers have lost five straight home games to Orlando and nine of the last 10 overall between the teams. ... Orlando is one of two NBA teams to have a higher winning percentage on the road than at home, going 7-11 at Orlando Arena and 11-13 away. ... Clippers point guard Eric Murdock made his sixth start of the season in place of Troy Hudson, who has started 30 games. ... The Magic has an 11-6 record against teams with records under .500 and a 7-17 mark against teams with .500 or better records. ... The Clippers didn't have an offensive rebound until Taylor got one early in the third quarter.
