Associated Press PHOENIX -- Tickets for Games 6 and 7 of the World Series sold out Tuesday by 5:20 p.m. MST, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced.
Tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Soon after the announcement of the sale Monday, a line of fans waiting to buy tickets wrapped around Bank One Ballpark, with thousands of people sleeping outside.
Tickets also were sold by phone, on the Internet and at Tucson Electric Park. Ticket prices ranged from $60 to $175. There was a limit of six tickets per person.
Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) will be played in New York at Yankee Stadium. If there isn't a winner in the best-of seven series, the Diamondbacks and New York Yankees will return to Bank One Ballpark to finish the series on Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4.
If one or both of Games 6 and 7 are not played, tickets can be returned to Bank One Ballpark for a full refund, or the face value of the ticket can be applied toward 2002 Diamondbacks games. |
