ANAHEIM, Calif. -- New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada got some good news Monday when X-rays of his left big toe turned up negative. Posada was hit on the left foot twice Sunday night -- once by a pitch and once by a foul tip -- and he was worried that the toe might be broken. Instead, Posada will be listed as day to day for the Yankees. "I'm hurting," Posada told reporters after Sunday night's 7-6, 10-inning loss to the Angels. "If it's broken, there's nothing you can do. Hopefully, it's not." Backup catcher Todd Greene will fill in if Posada can't play, and the Yankees could call up Bobby Estalella from Triple-A Columbus, too. |
