SEATTLE -- Roger Clemens of the Yankees will start for the
American League in Tuesday night's All-Star game against Arizona's
Curt Schilling.

It will be the second All-Star start for Clemens (12-1), an
eight-time All-Star who also started the 1986 All-Star game at
Houston's Astrodome.
Schilling (12-4), a four-time All-Star who started the game two
years ago in Boston, pitched seven innings Sunday in Arizona's 2-1
loss to Oakland. He planned to get to Safeco Field early Tuesday to
get loose, and if he's not at full strength, NL manager Bobby
Valentine said Diamondbacks' teammate Randy Johnson would start in
his place.
The NL lineup announced Monday by Valentine has Arizona's Luis
Gonzalez batting leadoff and playing right field, followed by
Colorado's Todd Helton at first, San Francisco's Barry Bonds in
left field, the Chicago Cubs' Sammy Sosa in center, Colorado's
Larry Walker at designated hitter, the New York Mets' Mike Piazza
at catcher, Atlanta's Chipper Jones at third base, San Francisco's
Jeff Kent at second base and the Giants' Rich Aurilia at shortstop.
The AL lineup put together by the Yankees' Joe Torre has
Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki leading off and playing center field
followed by Texas shortstop Alex Rodriguez, Boston's Manny Ramirez
in left, Seattle second baseman Bret Boone, Cleveland's Juan
Gonzalez in right, Mariners first baseman John Olerud, Seattle
designated hitter Edgar Martinez, Baltimore third baseman Cal
Ripken and Texas catcher Ivan Rodriguez.
