BOX SCORE
DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) _ Raul Mondesi hit two of the Toronto's five home runs and Carlos Delgado went 4-for-4 with a home run and a double Monday as the Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6. Mondesi, who was 3-for-4, connected off starter Jeff Fassero and loser Dan Smith. ``I don't put a lot of stock in spring training results'', said Fassero, who allowed four runs and six hits in five innings. ``You pitch in Arizona and the ball flys out. You pitch here in Florida, the wind's blowing out at 30 mph.'' Tony Batista and Brad Fullmer also homered for Toronto. Boston used a shift when Delgado was up, having only the third baseman and left fielder to the left of second base. Marty Cordova, signed by Toronto earlier in the day after Boston released him, made a diving catch of Carl Everett's sinking fly ball to left in the first. He also misplayed Jeff Frye's third-inning single, allowing a run to score. Cordova was 0-for-2 at the plate. Jose Offerman, Brian Daubach and Donnie Sadler homered for Boston, with Offerman going 3-for-4 with a double and a homer. Toronto starter Chris Carpenter allowed four runs _ three earned _ and seven hits in five innings. Lance Painter pitched a shutout inning for the win, and Billy Koch threw a hitless ninth for the save. Notes: Toronto reassigned OF Jacob Brumfield to its minor league camp. Brumfield was a non-roster invitee to spring training. ... Blue Jays OF Shannon Stewart is still listed day to day with a bruised heel.
