BOX SCORE
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ Jeff Kent hit a three-run homer in his spring debut and Chris Magruder had a game-winning sacrifice fly in the ninth inning Wednesday, leading the San Francisco Giants over the Chicago White Sox 8-7. Greg Norton was 4-for-5 with a double, triple and four RBIs for the White Sox, who have lost four of five. Bill Mueller, Rich Aurilia, Wilson Delgado and Doug Mirabelli each had two hits each for the Giants, who stopped a four-game losing streak. Chicago's Steve Gibralter was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, and Mike Caruso was 3-for-5 with two runs. Jeff Abbott had two hits and two RBIs. After Norton tied the score at 7 in the ninth off winner John Johnstone, loser Scott Eyre walked Calvin Murray and Bobby Estalella with one out in the bottom half, Delgado loaded the bases with a single and Magruder flied out to medium right, with Murray just beating Gilbrater's throw to the plate. San Francisco starter Mark Gardner gave up four runs and 10 hits in 4 2-3 innings, while Chicago's Jon Garland allowed six runs and six hits in three innings. Notes: Phoenix resident Keelen Navarro, who turned 5 on Wednesday, was struck across the knees by a bat that slipped out of Mueller's hands and into the stands three rows behind the Giants' dugout during the third inning. He was accompanied by Giants owner Peter Magowan to receive treatment and later returned to watch the game. ... Kent's homer was only the third to clear the 35-foot center-field screen at Scottsdale Stadium. Former Oakland ``Bash Brothers'' Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco also have done it.
