BOX SCORE
MESA, Ariz. (AP) _ Mark Grace's run-scoring single in the seventh gave him six RBIs in two exhibition games as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 4-2 Saturday. Corey Patterson hit a solo homer leading off the bottom of the eighth for the Cubs. Sammy Sosa went 2-for-3, both singles. Sosa, who hit 14 homers last spring and 63 during the regular season, is looking for his first spring homer. Armando Rios gave the Giants a 1-0 lead in the second inning when he homered off Kevin Tapani. The Cubs tied it in the third on a pinch-hit homer by Chris Hatcher. The Giants went ahead in the fourth when Terrell Lowery stole second and Cubs pitcher Ray King threw the ball into right field for an error. Lowery came all away around to score. After Grace's RBI hit, Julio Zuleta, who hit two home runs Friday, singled in the go-ahead run. Patterson, the Cubs' No. 1 draft pick in 1998, homered to deep right-center in the eighth off Giants lefty Alan Embree. Tapani pitched three innings, giving up two hits and one run. Giants starter Russ Ortiz also worked three innings, giving up four hits and one run.
