	Virginia Tech sophomore Michael Vick is the No. 1-rated player on Mel Kiper Jr.'s draft board.

Hangs on to the top spot in the top 25 for now, with his lofty grade based more on potential than production or consistency throwing the football.

Feb. 28
Checked in at about 6 feet tall at the combine. He has scheduled his individual workout for March 22 at Virginia Tech. If San Diego doesn't take him with the first overall pick, he'll go at that spot in a trade, with Atlanta the most viable option since they have the fifth overall pick and San Diego wouldn't be dropping down that far. Right now, though, indications are that new Chargers GM John Butler will likely make Vick the first pick and the cornerstone of the Chargers' anticipated resurgence in the coming years.

Feb. 7
With an awesome talent like Vick, the only concern will be how long it takes him to develop into a top-of-the-line, pure passer who is capable of beating the opposition with his arm as well as his incredible running skills. There is no questioning Vick's arm strength. He can thrown the ball 75 yards down the field or deliver a frozen rope to the intermediate areas. He has to work on being more patient in the pocket, allowing third and fourth options the chance to break open late within the progression. Expect Vick to watch from the sidelines for a year, then win the starting job in his second season.

He needs another year in college to work on becoming a more consistent, effective, drop-back passer. Also needs to show more patience, allowing his third and fourth options in the progression to break open late. With only two full years and the injury this year, he has limited starting experience. But it's tough to convince a kid that he should go back to college and work on developing his skills, only to risk getting injured while he could work on those same skills in the NFL making millions of dollars.

Oct. 9
While Heisman candidate Michael Vick has struggled with consistency throwing the football, he's a dynamic talent who seems to raise his performance level whenever the Hokies are challenged or need a major boost.

Sept. 18
As far as the Heisman Trophy is concerned, Virginia Tech QB Michael Vick showed once again versus Rutgers that he is a special performer with the overall skill level future Hall of Famer Steve Young displayed while he was at BYU.
