Here's a rundown of what I've had to say about Kansas State WR QUINCY MORGAN since the beginning of the college-football season.
Dec. 7
Physically talented wideout with the size offensive coordinators in the NFL are looking for. However, Morgan needs to work on maintaining a high concentration level over the entire 60 minutes. He does tend to run a little hot and cold.
Nov. 22
In the Wildcats' 28-24 squeaker over Missouri last week, Morgan hauled in four receptions for 35 yards.
Nov. 15
Key performer in K-State's huge 29-28 victory over Nebraska in the rain and snow at Manhattan last Saturday night. Morgan finished with seven catches for 199 yards and two TDs, with the last TD grab allowing the Wildcats to pull off the mild upset victory.
Nov. 8
Enjoyed what may have been his best game of the 2000 season this past week against Iowa State. Morgan came through with several dynamic receptions, with four of his six catches covering 20 yards or more.
Nov. 1
Has become more reliable in recent weeks, totaling five catches for 58 yards against Texas A&M.
Oct. 26
Now that QB Jonathan Beasley has cooled off (threw an interception in the end zone and another which ended a long drive), Morgan's productivity has dropped some. Against Texas Tech, he hauled in three receptions for 37 yards, including a 21-yarder for a TD late in the second quarter that put K-State up at the time by a score of 14-2. Down the stretch, Morgan will have to prove to the NFL brass that he has the necessary consistency catching the football to guarantee a first-round grade.
