Here's a rundown of what I've had to say about Michigan OT JEFF BACKUS since the beginning of the college-football season.

March 21
Consistency is his forte, with Backus figuring to be a rock-solid LT in the NFL.

Feb. 28
Any time you have a steady, consistent veteran like Backus, the team that brings him into the fold knows he's capable of becoming an immediate hole-filler at LT during his rookie campaign.

Feb. 7
Proved at the Senior Bowl practices that he's a natural LT. When you combine that with his terrific performances as a starter in the Big Ten, it's easy to see why I've elevated his grade over the last month.

Jan. 12
He played left tackle at Michigan. Very experienced veteran proved at practices he can be a very effective left tackle in the NFL.
