Great Outdoor Games website launches July 12

The official ESPN Great Outdoors Game Web site, a joint effort between ESPN Internet Group and Times Mirror Magazines' Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines, launches today with a full complement of features targeted toward the inaugural Games taking place July 20-23 in Lake Placid, N.Y. ESPN Internet Group is part of GO.com (NYSE:GO).

Fieldandstream.com and outdoorlife.com, the leading hunting and fishing web sites, will provide the structure, depth and reporting for the service, Greatoutdoorgames.com. The site will boast on-site event coverage and analysis from ESPN Great Outdoor Games analysts and editors of both Times Mirror magazines, as well as chats, video highlights, photo essays and photo galleries. It will also contain fan forums, event descriptions and schedules, the broadcast schedule, facts about the Games and competitors, and more. A sweepstakes will launch on the site the week of July 17, giving users the chance to win a trip to next year's Great Outdoor Games.

The Games, created and organized by ESPN, will take place July 20-23 in Lake Placid, N.Y. with more than 200 of the world's best competitors in outdoor sports vying for nearly $300,000 in prize money. The competition consists of 21 events in four sport categories. ESPN and ESPN2 will combine for 17.5 hours of original programming from July 27 - August 4. Mark Malone will host the coverage from Lake Placid, N.Y.
