	Duke must find a way to neutralize North Carolina's Brendan Haywood inside.

Haywood's effectiveness becomes more pronounced when his perimeter people are playing well. He blocks shots, and he can score around the basket when he gets the rock in deep. Haywood can also create a lot of emotion with big dunks.

When North Carolina hooks up with Duke on Thursday (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2), the size of Haywood has to be a factor. The Blue Devils' frontline could have matchup problems. Can Duke neutralize the big man in the middle?

Haywood has shown moments of brilliance this season. There have also been games where he hasn't been a factor. Which Mr. Haywood will show up this week for Matt Doherty's club?

He made a big statement against a then-undefeated Wake Forest team earlier this season. Haywood had 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in that contest. That's the kind of effort he needs here against Duke.
